Remarkably Commonplace
I suppose that in deep repose
Once could possibly cogitate
And I’d decry as soon as defy
The inescapable pull of gravity
One day perchance
In a fit of happenstance
O to see honest depravity
Bite down if you wish
Crush your teeth on a dish
And expose the blight and the cavity
If you persist
You might get what you wished
If only you knew with certainty
What it was that you needed
Before need receded
And left you alone with absurdity
I suppose that in deep repose
Once could possibly contemplate
And I’d decry as soon as defy
That alone is remarkably commonplace
