And the Thrill is Gone

Category: Poem

Sing song wailing and the thrill is gone
He wanted revenge but he knew it was wrong
Temptation screaming his name in rhythm
All alone on his death bed and prison
Raven eyes pierce the night
Black on black and cold as ice
Trembling in anticipation
Mumbling the curse of desecration
Clutching hope in desperation
Tasting blood he swallows his tongue
Right is right and wrong is wrong
Sing song wailing and the thrill is gone

Once in past not long ago
A battle was lost against that aged foe
Tossed and torn to and fro
He cried for peace and was told “No”

Sing song wailing and the thrill is gone
She stabbed her dad and burned her mom
She knew it was wrong but didn’t care
Clutching at her mother’s hair
Sorrow won’t come near this child
Her fear is old and living wild
Temptation screams her name in rhythm
All alone on her death bed and prison
The raven quiets its neck is wrung
Tasting blood she swallows her tongue
Right is right and wrong is wrong
Sing song wailing and the thrill is gone

Once in past not long ago
A battle was lost against that aged foe
Tossed and torn to and fro
She cried for peace and was told “No”
