Cacophony

Category: Poem

The way the world moves with a background noise

Tells you we are a people of anger

Crash and clang above the din

Hearing repressed fear as we spin into sin

Doppler shifting to and from the center of a friendly world

Equal mass unequal trepidation

We rise in waves as a liquid nation

Our burdens clank together like dishes in a sink

We listen for breaking china

While we dream of fears and think

We find an inner Lagrangian point and idle at peace

Waiting for war to shatter the balance

The cacophony tears down my face

Converted to liquid loss and traces my future on my skin

And as I taste the salt I fade away

I am gone as the waves of sound die down
