A Bird Trapped in a Cage – Complete
Some of you may be familiar with Jonathan Edward’s sermon titled, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” If you are not familiar with this great sermon, you can read it here. I took this concept and with some creative input of my own, created an audio-visual ”assault” aimed at reminding us all that the the world- without God- has nothing for us. The orchestration of this endeavor is such that you will need both the PowerPoint file and the audio file. You can look through the first 17 slides with the audio OFF. At slide 18, turn the audio ON. As the audio plays there will be lines to a poem that I wrote spoken one at a time. The first line of the poem goes with slide 19. As the audio progresses, you will manually advance one slide of the PowerPoint file with each line of the poem. This will go quickly. There will be just a couple of seconds per slide (usually). There will be a few slides were you will pause longer- just let the lines of the poem guide you. The images will usually be obviously linked to the image you are viewing so you will be able to verify if you are in sync or not. The audio will end at slide 203. Look through slides 204-212 with no audio. I hope the presentation sends you a message. I certainly intended for it to…
Get the PowerPoint file here (42 Mbytes). Get the audio file here (156 Mbytes). The poem that I wrote- that you will hear me recite when you listen to the audio- can be read here. Let me know any thoughts you have…
You will need Microsoft Powerpoint to view this file. You can download a free Powerpoint Viewer here if you need to.
