The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving
The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, commonly recognized by the acronym for the Russian progenitor, TRIZ, is a powerful and comprehensive systematic approach to innovation. There is a broad foundation of TRIZ elements that have been empirically derived and this is coupled to a large set of practical heuristics. This presentation is simply an introduction to several of the fundamental elements that you would find available in the TRIZ body of knowledge. After reviewing this you will at least know what you don’t know. Innovation is something I have focused on professionally and it is the main endeavor that my consulting firm, The Inventioneering Company is engaged in. You may also take a look at Real Innovation (co-founded) and The TRIZ Journal (editor for more than 10 years). I will be posting more information about innovation and TRIZ…look for it here.
