And the Wings Glow Brightly Red

November 21st, 2009 | Category: Poem

Fear hovers near with wisps of worry

The flutter of the demon bird can be heard

And the wings glow brightly red

As it hovers overhead

Afraid to look and see the hoary cry of abandon

Waiting to be screamed in my face

My eyes stay tight and I murmur prayers

To one who cares and hope he deigns to act

Red glow playing on my face

Ancient messenger patient for my attention

Unholy end or holy intervention

If only I were brave enough to look
