My Favorite Mistake

August 17th, 2009 | Category: Poem

Time stands still and watches me weep
Passing by with earnest sympathy
Watching all my err and weakness
Surrounded by a weak frivolity

Chortle whence my anger came
It wasn’t me despite the blame
She wasn’t mine to try to take
Her heart aligned for me to break

Deepest ponder in submission
As I wonder at my folly
Loving her was just a mission
Sending in another volley

Splashing wonder all I wanted
To attack and draw asunder
Wider still we passed affronted
There it was- magnificent blunder

A spray of remorse and coldest sorrow
You cannot keep and you cannot borrow
Set her free for her return
Cry all night and try to learn

Life is full of give and take
You rise and fall and fix and break
And in your failure reflecting fondly
Oft recall precious mistake

O to be Poseidon

August 04th, 2009 | Category: Poem

Aphrodite sitting on the stone
Sprayed by water but not alone
Sun kissed maiden o so fair
Rays of light in her golden hair
O to be Poseidon when she bathes

Energetic pulse and warmth
Her smile heats ocean waves
Her words make peace in the universe
Minutes by her side like longest days
O to be Poseidon when she bathes

Truth and beauty call her name
Apollyon flees at sight
Mornings in her loving embrace
Call forth for gentle night
O to be Poseidon when she bathes

Outside an angel descends to earth
Draped in whispers and a fog
Look upon her while you can
She has no other analogue
O to be Poseidon when she bathes
