She is Mine
I saw her from afar that day
And I was clearly taken
She was an angel set free on us
As we were not forsaken
I sent her flowers and poetry
My longing transcending passion
She smiled while singing in the sun
And was aloof as was her fashion
My fire burned much brighter now
I just had to possess her
She danced by the moonlight then
And responded to my love with laughter
I wrote of my deep love for her
My ache collapsed in a crash of thunder
She barely saw the words I wrote
Eyes burning through the page in wonder
I called to the gods to save me
I begged them help me if they can
I received a flash of clarity
And in it perceived a plan
My struggle has come to an end
All my fears are laid to rest
I have her heart after all this time
And I keep it on my desk
