Perfect Progress
Look now how she has grown
She draws them with her smile
The Princess never sleeps it seems
But maybe after while
Her look tells tales of long before
When she was just a girl
With satin ribbons in her hair
That would glimmer when she’d twirl
Amazed wonder as she turns
To talk or play some childhood game
She seems a little different now
But in many ways the same
Her spirit rose to meet the day
She makes her own decisions
And even though not nearly perfect
She is the subject of no derision
A look above her age it seemed
To carry her far away
She fled from Mediocrity
And doesn’t live near there this day
Her brightness fills the space around
The area where she dwells
She has exceeded every possibility
And her kindness comes in swells
The pieces of her heart return
Never again to go
She holds them all together now
With not a single foe
Freedom was all she needed
Far from expectation
To become the girl that God had made
A wondrous revelation
I see a perfect girl today
That’s how this story goes
Perfect thought, perfect deed
Perfect word, perfect prose
