The Train

Category: Poem

Be careful what you ask for
Someone who cares might offer
To make it so and right
And therefore all the time becomes as night
And the birds land softly near

The train carries all it can
Up the world and down again
It doesn’t slow around the bend
So please step back – be safe my friend
Toss your worry in the bin
Let the train carry your sin
And off it goes and up again
Called by another seekers whim

The sound of the train
Drives away the birds
The day breaks through the night
And all seems right
Toss your worry in the bin
The train has come around again
It doesn’t cause me any refrain
We all need a friend and a train
