She Smells Different

Category: Poem

Fragrance is what she left me
When she walked away the other day
I asked- no begged – for her to stay
Subtle smile but not my way
Better she left anyway
Now I smell the way she was
And it’s better than the way she is
Ironic isn’t it? But we should quit
She will hear us and tremble
Ire full force and terrible
Splendid anger leveled quietly
Building force and frustration
Spotting us above our station
Leading to dreadful demonstration
And the fragrance will go away
Sucked from the room by her void
Cold and hard – devastating
So I’m still waiting
For that girl I used to know
The fragrance will tell me so
When she smells like she is
Like I used to know
Remember when she had to go?
