You are Not Ordinary

December 30th, 2008 | Category: Poem

Melody Sometimes
A construct of subterfuge
Remembering her effervescence
From the past and in the present
You are many things I’m told
I cannot know because you are not mine
I believe them though
I remember when
We kissed and it was all true then
And it’s all true now
I remember how
You made me smile even though
It’s been a while
Comprehensive good and ever knowing
Love and kindness overflowing
Knowing when to stop and when to go
Your aren’t mine
But these things I know
Melody Sometimes
A construct of subterfuge
But good none the less
In white lace and blue dress

All Gone Cold

December 30th, 2008 | Category: Poem

The fire burns bright
And her hold on me is tight
The flames pull me in fast
And she peers into me again
Yellow and red the flames flicker
Debriefing another extroverted candidate
One ember at a time
No reason and no rhyme required
Their time has expired
She moves and I watch
Too hot to touch
The flames pull me in fast
And it won’t last for long
Her will is too strong
Debilitating laugh across the night sky
The embers die
And it has all gone cold
