Liquid Amber

December 18th, 2008 | Category: Poem

Liquid amber and the splendor it possesses
Reminds me of changes in us all
Fading from green to red
And the coming of a golden age
Graced with the beauty from the start
Revealed as Invictus comes and goes
Leaving the past wind swept
The blend of color excites the mind
Wondrous pleasure comes in new colors
With the eternal passing of time
Autumn leads us to a new place
Where the kiss of the sun is gone
But you still feel warm inside
The water freezes at the surface
But you can remember the ripples that will come again
And they are mimicked as a smile on your lips
A kiss brings warmth and the air doesn’t seem so cold
Fall is the time to be held and to hold
White over yellows and reds
The leaves are covered in snow
The wind exposes the rainbow beneath
When it decides to
Nature takes its toll
And it is a price we gladly pay

The Sun Will Set for You

December 18th, 2008 | Category: Poem

When the trees have no leaves
And the stars are quiet in the sky
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When the water is still
And the whispers of the wind fill your mind
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When the people around you cease to move
And phosphorescent flutters fill the air
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When time rolls along
And you sing a different song
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When the sun demands justice
And the tides all rise
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When the universe calls
And your will expands
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

When the fear runs away
And the moon comes out to play
What exactly will you do?
Will the sun set for you?

If I decided
What the sun would do
Then I would make
The Sun Set for You
