Door Opens Slowly

August 20th, 2008 | Category: Poem

The door opens slowly, creaking as it has for years.
The light from the hall makes me squint
But I can see a figure moving clearly near.

I hold your gaze as I step from the light,
Following you always into the night
As your lashes narrow and hold my stare,
I hear you whisper, “Are you really there?”

Hope blossoms in my pounding heart
Floor boards silent under bare feet
The glow behind engulfs you in sparks of light
As you say, “I am here. And yours tonight.”

Twin peridots glimmer and my emotions grow
As if to realize a self I didn’t quite know.
I search the dark to find you, my key.
I want to understand that spark you put in me.

Embracing you as for the first time
Loving you— for you are mine
We are complete—you and me
Being together is the key

Fingertips roam slowly over silken skin
Tingles ignite the want of heavenly sin
Bodies entwine in a moonlit dance
Eye to eye, this is a game of chance

Oneness, love and sin in your gaze
Lost in the deepness of your love for days
Emerging whole as never before
All because you passed through my door

I am standing on the inside, steady looking out
My heart belongs to you, of this I have no doubt.
Right now you are on the outside, even though part of you is in.
Together we are waiting for the rest of our life to begin

Tears of Fate

August 20th, 2008 | Category: Poem

Tears from heaven flow at times
When man needs the gift of hope
The water crystallizes in formations of joy
And falls to uncertain places

One pure thought he has for her
To hold her for time to come
Spend his moments in her thoughts
Emanations of two becoming one

Above the Earth collecting in a pattern of innocence
Blanketing in the purest form
In this sense she was his all along
Only to be claimed when he saw her face

The pace of life places Fate in our hand
Alighting to the gentle touch of a Lover who knows
Admiring her openly and following the quest
To win her heart as his own

She is like the snow that falls in April
The last of a kind and special to behold
Yours and at the same time- other’s
Beautiful, she draws the wind to her side

Sunshine cannot force her form to melt- for she is mine
I hold her gaze from the Sun’s rays
And have loved her for all time
As she has loved me all the days

The Sun drives a shift but not a rift
We are together and above it all
Before time began
Tears from heaven placed her in my hand

So she is mine and I am hers
And if rain melt the snow away
I’ll find the uncertain place
And wait for that same day
