Redheads Not Warheads

Category: Poem

Whenever you need to move your heart to another plateau
To graze on grass greener than any other
Or fill your lungs with laughter and charm
From another dream you might have had
It is best to find what you need under the Moon
The Sun burns too bright for open eyes
And the skin freckles in response
Pale is like a dream you could share with another

Anger washes over you like the water from the fall
Pouring through your hair
As you prepare for war and harm and cruelty
Anguish and sorrow come for you tomorrow
Take your lovers to your beds
Just for one night
Redheads Not Warheads

Awake prepared by love anon
To find an enemy and drive them from
What makes them happy and free
To captivity they flee
Take your lovers back to your beds
Redheads Not Warheads

Freedom comes at a price too high to pay
So close your eyes during the day
And pray that night will come soon
And claim what you have of worth
Blood on your hands looks like wine in the moonbeam drama
Redwine and Redheads holding hands when dawn breaks
Complacent dreams make you miss the most

Awake prepared by love anon
Take from them what they cherish most
Drive them from their land
Wield a heavy hand, weighted with the languid prose of destruction
Burn them where they sleep
Redwine washes the pain away
And Redheads cleanse your soul of turmoil and temerity
Redheads Not Warheads for another night

She moves like a flower in a breeze
Her face a backdrop for a dream
That plays for you in the gleam of her eyes
And it makes you cry
There is no war there for you to see
No pain or suffering
She holds your hand and draws you in
To a world of love and common friends
Redheads Not Warheads, every night
