When You Lose Something You Shouldn’t
There is no blame when you’ve done nothing wrong
Like pick the wrong words when writing a song
Or when something goes that should have stayed
Nothing to do when things go this way
Pain and regret wash over your soul
Makes you feel broken and far less than whole
Comfort will come as soon as it can
For all things that happen follow a plan
Those who love you share in your pain
And wish that this sorrow never visits again
Desire to take your hurt but we couldn’t
When my dear you’ve lost something you shouldn’t
Be at peace knowing that right
Will be by your side through the days and the nights
And as you stop looking for that which was lost
It will be found again no matter the cost
Those who think about you day and night
Want to make this tale turn out right
Desiring to take your hurt but we couldn’t
When my dear you’ve lost something you shouldn’t
Sky at Night
In the sky tonight
We see swirling sheaths of light
Dancing to a heavenly harmonic
Christening the dark blue sky
With swirls of incandescent purples and pinks
An aerial trapeze between stars of wonder
While we watch the moon loom over our embrace
Darkness paints a backdrop for the show
Stars scattered across the sky- to and fro
The moon comes to us and dances in our laps
Keeping us company while we talk
Starlight reflecting off evening dew
Keeping your face from shadow
Painting your beauty for the heavens
Nebulous whispers in your ear from me and the night sky
Words of affection transferred between you and I
Under the glow of mighty grandeur
A comet crosses between constellations and consternations
The heavens reel from the mighty discharge
Lightning jumps from cloud to cloud
Collapsing vacuums crashing loud
The vision is euphoric as it plays out overhead
Unfolding drama for our pleasure
As we sit and talk together
In the sky tonight and in your eyes
I see the purples and pinks with your own greens
Translated cosmic energy and I know what it means
You are mine while the heavens fight their fall
You are mine but that’s not all
The sky is ours and dances to please
And weaves a poem with its breeze
And finishes with your smile
