The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Rules the World

May 11th, 2008 | Category: Poem

Happy Mother’s Day from Red…
—-

Their love for us makes the world go ‘round
They pick us up and set us down
They hold our hand and protect our steps
Their strength in us one day begets
A strength and power of our own
As we leave our mother’s home

For from the time you come till the time you leave
She prays for you down on her knees
You come before any desire she possesses
She wears her love for you like long tresses
She will fight for you as need be
She will see for you when you can’t see
She will speak for you when you know not what to say
And her wisdom will often guide your way (at least it should)
Stand by your side when others might not
When you have nothing—she’s all you’ve got
She directs your steps to success
And prays your days be many and blessed

She seconds herself for you
In a world where selfishness rules
She gives up her life as no other would
So your life will be as it should (as she intended it)
She is your Mother
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
The Hand That Rules the World
She is your Mother
And with her—you need no other
